Many cities like Atlanta have suspended dine-in service to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, with takeout and delivery and online gift card and merch purchases now the new reality for restaurants. Some restaurants have gone one step beyond delivery and takeout, transforming dining rooms into temporary neighborhood markets and food pantries.

The Decatur cafe still offers bagels, sandwiches, and coffee to-go, but has added goods from local farmers, as well as other provisions to the mix, including Montane sparking water, wine, and beer. Purchase local cheeses from Decimal Place Farm and Hobo Cheese Co., heirloom popcorn kernels and grits, cured meats, and vegetables from area farms like Woodland Gardens and Row by Rowe.

While the restaurant ceased takeout service, it begins offering CSA boxes from local farmers. Boxes contain eggs, vegetables, butter, and grits, and the option to add bottles of wine or canned beer, coffee beans from 3 Heart Roastery, or fresh-made soups and empanadas. Chef Maricela Vega is also creating weekly recipes for the boxes. A portion of the proceeds from each box goes to assist restaurant staff currently out of work. $30 box feeds up to two people. $50 box feeds up to four people. Pick-up Thursday and Friday.
